The following tutorial explains how to convert a PSPIMAGE/PSP file to a PDF document with the help of the novaPDF printer driver and the Corel PaintShop Photo Pro. To be able to complete the conversion, you will have to download and install novaPDF first if you haven't already done so.
Corel PaintShop Pro has a long history dating from 1990 with Jasc Software. The program is a raster graphics editor with the capability of also editing vector graphics available exclusively for Microsoft Windows. The functionality can be extended with the help of compatible plugins. Corel PaintShop Pro was designed to bring the most user friendly experience to its users and professionals alike. This is a huge advantage over its rivals as Adobe PhotoShop for example targets professionals, architects and usually people with advanced knowledge in the field. This way, the average user who just wants to edit a photo or add enhancements can do it on the fly without much hassle.
Corel PaintShop Pro saves its images in a .PSPIMAGE format (images) or .PSP (for animations). It is a native extension for the Corel PaintShop bitmap image that contains layers, vector paths, metadata and possible other objects.
The format is exclusive for Windows and it is proprietary to Corel, meaning you will need to have either a Corel application installed on your computer when receiving the file for further enhancement. This is why a PDF file has an ISO standard for portability and archiving and it is great alternative in file management. Also converting the psp to a PDF using novaPDF is another great advantage because of the features you can add to the file like searching content, signatures, security, quality preservation etc.
