How to register novaPDF |
When novaPDF is not registered, the only restriction is that a notice will be printed at the bottom of each page of the PDF file created. After you purchase a license for novaPDF, you should receive an email that contains a Registration name and a Registration key.
To register novaPDF (using the registration information received by email after purchasing), follow these steps:
- Press the Windows Start button. The Windows Start Menu is shown
- Select Printers and Faxes from the start menu if your operating system is Windows XP or 2003 Server (or Settings and then Printers and Faxes if you use the classic Start menu). In case you have Windows 2000, 2000 Server or Vista you should select Printers (or Settings and then Printers if you use the classic Start menu from Vista). This will open a window with all your installed printers. novaPDF printer should be among them.
- In the Printers and Faxes window, right click on the novaPDF Printer icon and select Printing Preferences. This will open the novaPDF Printing Preferences dialog.
- In the Printing Preferences window go to About and press the Register button. This will open the Registration window.
- Copy and paste the registration information you received by email in those two fields (Registration name and Registration key)
- Press OK and a License key successfully registered message should be displayed if your copy was successfully registered (in case of error you'll receive The registration name or registration key you entered is invalid. Please retype or copy/paste the registration information again, so you should either try copying/pasting the information again or if it still doesn't work contact us)
Special instructions for network installations (for details see How to install and use nova PDF Server as a shared network PDF Printer):
- If you purchased novaPDF Server and you intend to use it as a shared network printer, you have to share the novaPDF printer installed on the central computer (your print server). Then you have to add it on your workstations as a network printer using the Add Printer wizard accessible from the Printers and Faxes or Printers folder.
- If you are using Terminal Services to connect to the central computer where novaPDF is installed (your print server) then you do not need to share and install on the client computers anything. All client computers which connect to a registered print server will automatically register themselves on first print (until you reach the allowed computers limit). Unregistered client computer will not be able to print to a registered server once the allowed user limit is reached. If you want this to reassign the licenses to different client computers you can do it so from the Licenses window (accessible from the About page of the Printing Preferences window).
