Registration

novaPDF offers an unlimited trial, meaning you can install and use it for how long you want. However, if you don't purchase a license and register it, every page in the PDF files you create will have a footer notice "Create PDF files without this message by purchasing novaPDF printer (http://www.novapdf.com)".

If you want to create pdf files without that footer notice you have to buy a license. After purchasing novaPDF you will receive your registration key(s). To register your copy of the program, follow these instructions: Registering novaPDF.

novaPDF Server must be installed on a computer (Server) and registered. Once registered only the number of clients you bought will be able to print to it. For example if you have 20 computers in a network that you want to allow PDF printing to, you will pay for 20 licenses and you will receive a single server registration key valid for all 20 computers.

How server licensing works If you are not using Terminal Services, share the printer installed on your "print server". You have to add the network printer to the client computers. If you are using Terminal Services then you do not need to share and install on the client computers anything. All client computers which connect to the registered "print server" will automatically register themselves on first print (until you reach the allowed computers limit). Unregistered client computer will not be able to print to a registered server once the allowed user limit is reached. Benefits of server licensing:

Simplified Installation. You can install novaPDF on a Windows server, and any user can print to PDF (i.e. convert a file to PDF) either by adding the novaPDF shared printer or by installing novaPDF on their computers too.
Centralized Updates. When a new version of novaPDF is installed on the server, on the client computers novaPDF is automatically updated too. This way you only update it in one place and it automatically propagates throughout the network.
Public Profiles. You can set up a printing profile for novaPDF on the server and all the client computers will be able to use that profile. If you change the public profile on the server, it automatically changes propagates it throughout the network.
License management. novaPDF allows the management of license usage on the server where it is installed. You can simply add/rename/remove licensed workstations using the licensing management window.

Registration

For large enterprise businesses needing more than 1000 licenses we recommend the site licensing solution, especially suitable for companies that need unlimited usage in a region, country or even worldwide.

There are four types of site licenses: Server, Regional, Country and Worldwide site license. It's easy to choose which one is suitable given that all relate to where your company has the offices novaPDF will be used into. Each license type mentioned below is available for all novaPDF editions (Lite, Standard and Professional).

Server license (with unlimited clients) means that you can install one copy of novaPDF on one central computer (server) and unlimited computers (clients) can connect to the server and use novaPDF as a shared network printer to create PDF files. This model is best suited for Remote Desktop Connection and Terminal Servers.

Regional license means that unlimited copies of novaPDF can be installed and registered in an organization, company or other entity, whose offices are located within the borders of one statoid (defined as a "major administrative division of your country" – such as state, province, region, governorate, prefecture, district). For instance if you are an US based company that has offices only in the state of Texas, you can purchase one regional license and anyone in your company can use novaPDF.

Country license means that unlimited copies of novaPDF can be installed and registered in an organization, company or other entity whose offices are within the borders of one country. For example if your company has 100 offices in USA and you buy one country license, anyone within your company can use novaPDF.

Worldwide license means that unlimited copies of novaPDF can be installed and registered in an organization, company or other entity with offices all over the world. For instance if your company has offices in 20 countries and you buy one worldwide license, anyone within your company can use novaPDF.

Licensing information

novaPDF SDK and novaPDF OEM are fully functional with no time limitation. This means that you can test to see if they fit your needs, without ordering. When they're not licensed, the only restriction is that a watermark will be printed on each PDF page. After ordering an application license you will receive a registration key and instructions on how to register and remove the watermark from further created PDF files.
