I have lost my Registration key. What should I do?

If you have lost your registration key please contact us at support@novapdf.com. Specify (if possible) your order number, name and email used to buy online.

What is the difference between the unregistered and the registered versions?

The unregistered version displays a footer notice on each page of the generated PDF file. Also, even if support is free, registered users get priority support. For more information on the benefits of registration, please visit the Buy Now page.

Can I use my registration key on two computers?

According to the license agreement your product can only be used on one computer at a time. If you want to use novaPDF on a different computer, you have to uninstall it first from the first computer and re-install it on the second one. To use novaPDF simultaneously on two computers you need to acquire 2 licenses. If you are interested in buying more than 2 licenses, visit the Volume Discounts section for information on discounted prices.

Can I create a backup CD with the information for my registered novaPDF copy?

Yes, we actually recommend that you create a backup disk after you buy and download novaPDF that contains the registration information for novaPDF and the setup file. This way if your computer crashes you can use the backup cd to reinstall and register your licensed copy of novaPDF and prevent losing a program that you purchased.

You can download the setup file for novaPDF using the download page: Download novaPDF.
After you purchase a license key for novaPDF you will receive an email that contains a Registration name and Registration key. If you do not have that email anymore you can contact us and we will send it to you (assuming you're using the same email address you used when you ordered it, or have the order id number).

What are the differences between the three editions of novaPDF (Lite, Standard and Professional)?

novaPDF Professional has all the features enabled, while novaPDF Standard and Lite have limited functionality. In order to help you decide on what edition best suits your needs, please visit the Feature Matrix page.

What happened to network licenses?

Starting with version 4 network licenses were renamed to server licenses. If you own network licenses for a certain edition and want to upgrade to server edition licenses, visit the Upgrade section.

I have a server license. How do I register novaPDF on other computers in my network?

When you first register a server license, the Licenses window in the About box is empty. If a print job is started from a computer in the network, the computer name is registered automatically for a license, as long as there are licenses available.

So if you bought enough licenses for your users, you don’t have to configure anything as all computers will be automatically registered when they initiate their first print job to the novaPDF printer on the printer server. If you wish, you can manage the licensed workstations manually in the Licenses window. You can add, remove or rename workstations in the Licensed Machines list.

When I try to register, I receive the error "Registration failed". What should I do?

First try to copy and paste the registration information exactly as you have received it in your email (no leading or trailing spaces). Also, you may be running Norton Antivirus Auto Protect or similar software that is preventing programs from adding/modifying registry keys. You will need to disable this type of software temporarily, in order to register novaPDF, as your registration details are stored in the registry.
