Definition: A PDF viewer is a computer program designed to view PDF documents. The most common used program for viewing PDF files is Adobe Reader. Other popular applications used for viewing PDF documents are Foxit reader, GSview, Sumatra PDF. Depending on the program used, a PDF viewer can also search, digitally sign, verify and collaborate on PDF files. Some PDF viewers, beside the main functionality of opening and displaying a PDF, also offer features such as: searching for text inside the PDF, digitally signing the PDF file, verifying the PDF, printing the PDF (to a regular printer) and eventually allowing different users to collaborate on the same PDF file.
