Term: pcl to pdf
Definition: .pcl is a file extension for the Printer Command Language Format (PCL) who was developed by Hewlett-Packard, specifically to provide a mean of communication between computers and printers. pcl to pdf refers to the process of converting a PCL document to a PDF file. In order for the conversion to take place, a PCL viewer (such as OpenPCL) needs to be installed as well as a PDF printer driver such as novaPDF. Converting the .pcl file to a PDF is done by opening the document in the PCL Viewer, going to File->Print, selecting as a printer the virtual PDF printer (i.e. novaPDF) and clicking on Print. Once the conversion is finished, the PDF document will be saved to a desired location.
